Cello Ensemble

The Princess of Asturias Foundation International Music School’s Cello Ensemble is an instrumental ensemble directed by Viguen Sarkissov (Russia, 1946).

Soloist with the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra (1980-1996), Sarkissov arrived in Spain in 1990. He teaches Violoncello at the Eduardo Martínez Torner Advanced Conservatory of Music of the Principality of Asturias and has taught this subject at the International Music School since 2005.

The ten students who make up the ensemble gave a concert in 2012 at the annual meeting of the Boards of Trustees of the Foundation at the Royal Palace of El Pardo. The programme included Bachianas Brasileiras No. 1 by Heitor Villalobos and Mambo for Six by Wilhelm Kaiser-Lindemann.
