Jazz Ensemble Princess of Asturias Foundation International Music School

Jazz Ensemble

Convened for the first time in 2015, the International Music School’s Jazz Ensemble is made up of clarinet, cello and percussion students of this subject imparted by pianist Oscar Camacho Morejón (Bilbao, 1973). Likewise teacher of Chamber Music and the school’s repertoire pianist since 2005, he has led the Big Band of the Professional Conservatory of Music, Gijón, where he currently teaches.

With a programme including arrangements of works by Handel, Bach and Brahms, the Jazz Ensemble gave a concert at the end of the inaugural lecture by mezzo-soprano Teresa Berganza, 1991 Prince of Asturias Award for the Arts, at the 2015 International Music School’s Summer Courses, which was presided over by Her Majesty Queen Letizia.
