OVER ONE HUNDRED STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE FOUNDATION´S INTERNATIONAL MUSIC SCHOOL WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH OF REGISTRATION BEING OPEN

Registration will close on 11th July.

Over one hundred students -from Cuba, Chile, France, Israel, Mexico, Russia, Venezuela and Spain- have already enrolled on the XIII Summer Courses within the first month of registration. In addition, the School´s website has received over 27,000 visits from some thirty different countries.

Students may register via the School´s website at www.escuelainternacionaldemusica.org or pick up the registration forms from the Prince of Asturias Foundation offices: C/ General Yagüe, 2 / 33004 Oviedo. Registration will close on the 11th July. Classes shall be imparted at the "Eduardo Martínez Torner" Advanced Conservatory of Music and at the Prince Felipe Auditorium, both in Oviedo, from 22nd July to 2nd August.

Classes shall be taught by a distinguished teaching staff that has included among its visiting professors some of the most celebrated musicians worldwide. Thirty-eight professors of eleven different nationalities shall give classes covering the standard range of symphonic orchestral instruments, as well as ensemble classes for chamber music, string quartets, wind ensembles, folk music ensembles, youth orchestra and junior orchestra. This year, the School has bolstered its traditional Asturian music department, where, besides the bagpipes, traditional Asturian ballad singing (tonada) will be taught, and includes for the first time a course on comprehensive health in music.
