Matías Rodríguez Inciarte, president of the Prince of Asturias Foundation

To Asturias, a land where the work of the Prince of Asturias Foundation and the International Music School has proven fruitful, we welcome all of our students.

Since its beginnings, our organisation has felt highly linked to musical expression, which we understand to be one of the most beautiful and highest forms of Art. Throughout these years the Prince of Asturias Awards have gone to musicians of the stature of Jesús López Cobos, Krzysztof Penderecki, Daniel Barenboim, Joaquín Rodrigo, Yehudi Menuhin, Mstislav Rostropovich, Alicia de Larrocha, Monstserrat Caballé, Plácido Domingo, Barbara Hendricks, the Orfeón Donostiarra, José Carreras, Teresa Berganza, Victoria de los Ángeles, Alfredo Kraus, Pilar Lorengar, Paco de Lucía and Bob Dylan.

Our fondest wish is for this profound relationship with music to grow and deepen thanks to the International Music School's activities, the best symbol of our aims and hopes.
